Friendship Groups

Support groups are often established for people to exchange both emotional and matter of fact information to its group members. The Friendship Center is currently providing seniors an opportunity to come together as friends in order to share information and offer emotional support in a safe and confidential setting. “The Friendship Group” at the center meets once a month to discuss feelings associated with Grief and Loss, Relationships and any other issues related to the aging process. Many support groups such as the “Friendship Group” can be a valuable resource where people can share similar circumstances and get affirmations that their feelings are "normal." The Friendship Center hopes to convey the message to its group members that support groups are frequently made up of people with common interests and experiences and because of this, these people can relate to what you are going through and support you by reassuring you that you do not have to feel alone.

Friendship groups will be facilitated by a licensed social worker at the six different Friendship Centers at 10:00am for fifty minutes in the schedule listed below. Any Friendship client is welcome to attend.

Conroe Friendship Group- Fourth Friday of the month.

East County Friendship Group- First Thursday of the month.

Magnolia Friendship Group- Fourth Wednesday of the month.

Montgomery Friendship Group- Second Thursday of the month.

South County Friendship Group- Third Monday of the month.

Willis Friendship Group- Second Wednesday of the month.
