The Friendship Centers in Montgomery County, Texas advocates for the well-being of its senior clientele. Clients are often seen partaking in activities at the centers, which promote healthy socialization. For example, “The wild group” as they call themselves, meets in Conroe everyday to play dominos. This small group of 4-5 can be seen at a table in front playing, eating, and even sharing a little humor. This serious group of players never misses a chance to score a smile or two from the Friendship staff. Meeting each day is one way that this group keeps the rainy day blues away. By engaging in the various activities at The Friendship Center, the senior clientele establish social relationships, and are empowered towards maintaining a quality of life.
